About Laboratory: SOCRAT project in Istria intertwines the abundant cultural heritage of the Region of Istria and contemporary artistic expression through three Creative Living Labs with subjects of performing arts, textile and fashion design, ceramics and sculpture. Roman archaeological sites, hilltop medieval cities with castles, churches with frescoes paintings, vernacular architecture, dry stone building technique, ethnology as well as socialist period heritage were starting points for research and reinterpretation of cultural heritage by contemporary artists and cultural and creative industries that created innovative cultural tourism products demonstrating the strength of creative cross-border collaboration that presented the best of their artistic practices deeply emerged into Istrian territory and culture.
